Participate in a Multigenerational Choir on Kickoff Sunday

I’m excited to offer a special “kickoff” chorus event for those of you who would like to participate occasionally in special events or as a regular member of the choir. I invite you to participate in an Aldersgate multigenerational choir on kickoff Sunday, September 8, for the 11:00 a.m. service. Please consider singing on this special day and join us! Children, grades 3 and above, youth, and adults of all ages are welcome. I am hopeful that we can have a large ensemble to share God’s message through music! There is no expectation for you to continue singing on a weekly basis, but you are always most welcome to sing with the choir whenever you wish to do so.

A piece will be selected that features the children and youth separately, who will then combine with the adult singers. Once I have an estimate of singers participating, I will share an audio link of the piece to everyone, along with vocal part link to practice for those who would like to do so.

Rehearsals (attending both is preferred, but if you are only able to attend one, please do so!)

Adults: Wednesday, August 28 and Sept 4, 7:30 – 8:30 p.m. (Youth are invited to attend the adult rehearsal as well, if available, and learn that section of the music)

Children and Youth: Sunday, August 25, 4:00-4:45 p.m. and Wednesday September 4, 6:00-6:45 p.m.

Combined rehearsal Sunday, Sept. 8, 10:30-10:50. Sing only at 11 am service. Perform approximately 11:15.

I look forward to an exciting year in the music ministry at Aldersgate and hope that you will join us as we sing together for Kickoff Sunday, September 8!

If you want to participate, click here to indicate which rehearsals you will attend. Please let me know by August 19. I will then be able to order music for those who have signed up.

In Christ,
Ernest Johnson
