MISSION INFORMATION

US Hurricane Response

Mondloch House.png

Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton have devastated parts of the southeastern United States, bringing catastrophic wind, rain, and flash flooding to many states and communities. In response, the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is coordinating with affected annual conferences and supporting their local relief efforts through the award of financial grants and the deployment of UMCOR-trained Early Response Teams (ERTs) who are coordinating efforts to support the removal of debris, tarping of roofs, and cleaning out of homes in hard-hit areas.

The Virginia Annual Conference is supporting these efforts by putting together and sending UMCOR Cleaning (Flood) Buckets, including the 150 Flood Buckets put together by Aldersgate UMC and Woodlawn Faith UMC. To learn more about what the Virginia Annual Conference is doing and how you can help, visit https://vaumc.org/hurricaneresponse/.

Please join UMCOR and the Virginia Annual Conference in prayer and by making a gift to this and other disasters in the United States.
