EVENT INFORMATION < Previous Event Back to Upcoming Events Back Next Event > Sunday Lunch at Rising Hope UMC LOCAL MISSIONS & OUTREACH Donation Drop-Off by Friday, January 10th Lunch Served on Sunday, January 12th Drop-Off Donations at Door #3 Aldersgate provides lunch to the 50 or so worshippers at Rising Hope Mission Church on the 2nd Sunday of each month. We need your help! Volunteers are needed to donate food and drinks as indicated on the sign-up and drop them off at the church at Door #3 by the Friday before our Sunday Lunch date. NURSERY Your children are as important to us as they are to you (well, almost). That’s why we provide a safe, loving, Christian environment for your babies and toddlers ages 3 and under while you are at worship. The Nursery is available during all Sunday morning worship services in rooms 122 and 123. All staff members have had background checks, CPR training, and follow CDC safety guidelines. Mr. Francisco will talk about the history of fifing in the armed services and in the Revolutionary War. He will play some battle hymns and marching songs of that period, talk about music in the 18th century, and relate his life experiences in the Army and as a flutist. I have served two prior appointments at Riverton UMC and Culpeper UMC. Aldersgate is a wonderful church with lots of great missions, ministries, small groups, and great people who love God, each other, and their neighbors. I enjoy meeting people and watching them grow in faith, mission, and ministry using their gifts and talents. I enjoy leadership training and development and helping to build teams where people work together collaboratively for good. I enjoy being part of mission work, spending time outdoors, and being with my family. I am married to Lee Anne, and we have 2 grown sons and 3 grandsons and an adopted granddaughter form India. We lost our daughter, Kelsey, in 2008 in a car accident. We enjoy traveling to adventurous places, hiking, and spending some quiet time at our little cottage on Gwynn’s Island on the Chesapeake Bay. I am so blessed to be serving here at Aldersgate with a great staff and Leadership team. Come join us and let’s grow together.
