- 2023 Comprehensive Campaign | Aldersgate UMC
COMPREHENSIVE CAMPAIGN 2023 Shepherding for the Future Comprehensive Campaign 2023 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." Psalm 23:1 Rather than ask you twice within several months to give to two separate efforts, we are asking you once to support these efforts and to consider a gift for the future through a single Comprehensive Campaign for 2023. The Comprehensive Campaign 2023 has three parts - Stewardship, Shepherd Hall, and Legacy Giving. More information on each is below . We ask you to consider each part carefully. We encourage you to be a shepherd for the future through your giving. Stewardship 2023 Shepherd Hall Campaign 2023 Stewardship Campaign Operating Budget The priority or first component for giving is your support of the annual expenses - the operating budget - of the church. The operating budget is the cost of the church's programs every day of the year. The total operating budget for 2023 is projected to be $1.6 million. This will be paid through pledged commitments (62.5%), non-pledge donations (28.2%), and other revenue (9.3%). Our goal is to receive pledged commitments for a total of $1 million. Included in the operating budget are the apportionments which we pay to support the ministries of the United Methodist Church denomination. Apportionments is a method of giving that proportionally allocates the denomination-wide budget to conferences and local churches. For example, the apportionment dollars that Aldersgate gives toward Global Missions and other organizations within the United Methodist Church help those in need in Ukraine. The operating budget includes apportionments, staff salaries, church administration expenses, missions, and the cost of maintaining the church properties (main church and two parsonages). Click Here for Note on Mission Expenses You are asked each Fall to make a commitment through the "Stewardship Campaign" for the following year. You are asked to renew your current commitment to support the annual operating budget and to consider increasing your pledge by 10% for 2023. If you do not have a current commitment, please consider making one. The amount you give is a personal matter. When deciding on how much to give, remember that scripture indicates that tithing is the standard and that giving one-tenth of our income to the church is the norm. Tithing is a spiritual goal for many Christians and for members of the Jewish faith, as well. Legacy Giving Anchor 1

- 2025 Stewardship Campaign | Aldersgate UMC
GIVE TO ALDERSGATE UMC "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms." 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) The theme for our 2025 Stewardship Campaign is based on the scripture passage in 1 Peter in which Peter encourages every person to put into practice the gifts God has given to serve those around us. Having the Heart of a Servant for Christ uses our gifts and talents to multiply the church's impact on our community. It takes all of us helping in big and small ways to run this beautiful church that means so much to us and our community. We invite you to make a commitment of your time and talents for 2025 using the online form accessed by the button, below. The areas listed on the form are just a sample of ways you can use your time and talents. Each section has an "Other" area where you can add suggestions that align with this ministry. We'd love to hear your suggestions on where you see your talents fitting. The ministry leaders for each team will be in touch with you in early 2025. - Shepherd Hall Mortgage Debt Reduction | Aldersgate UMC
GIVE TO ALDERSGATE UMC Shepherd Hall 2023-2025 Campaign Repayment of Debt for Construction of Shepherd Hall "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want." Psalm 23:1 The Shepherd Hall project included building Shepherd Hall; renovating existing classrooms; installation of new and higher capacity boilers and air conditioning for the entire church complex; and environmental site requirements, including the parking lot expansion and the installation of drainage sand filler. Total costs were approximately $4.6 million. The need for Shepherd Hall came because of an increase in the number of families in the community. Space was needed for the growing Sunday School attendance and the expansion of the Aldersgate Day School. The primary purpose was to support Christian education. Another use for the new building was much-needed storage. AT that time, the church was overflowing with materials and equipment to support church activities. The third floor of Shepherd Hall was designed to provide sufficient storage. Shepherd Hall Testimonial Videos Campaign Commitments Campaign Information Packet FAQs Campaign Presentation Thank you for your contribution and commitment to Aldersgate UMC! Shepherd Hall is a three-story addition to the church building that includes approximately 15,000 square feet of meeting and storage space. The addition is about 30% of the overall church building's space. Included in Shepherd Hall are the church library, where books on a variety of topics are available and where meetings of many church and community groups are held; Sunday School classes for children, youth, and adults; and storage for the church, Aldersgate Day School, and the Aldersgate Church Community Theater. The map of the church (above) shows the first two floors of Shepherd Hall at the bottom, inside the red box. The third floor, which is not shown, is used for storage. While the church community has been very generous and has given through several campaigns to support Shepherd Hall, the remaining debt as of October 1, 2022, is $2.1 million. History of Giving Progress Report Current Status History of Giving Towards Shepherd Hall From 2010-2016, a total of $3,055,142 was given toward the Shepherd Hall project. The most recent campaigns (Building Lives Campaign in 2016-2019 and Growing Lives for the Future Campaign in 2021-2023) have brought in $1,156,561. In addition to this, $61,909 was contributed in "Mortgage May" in May 2022 against a goal of $10,000. The total paid from these campaigns of $4,273,612 reflects the significant amount of interest that has been paid over the lifetime of the loan. During that time, the principal has been reduced by a far smaller amount. We still have a long way to go.

GIVE TO ALDERSGATE UMC Do All the Good You Can Stewardship Campaign 2024 "They are to do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share." 1 Timothy 6:18 (NRSV) Our theme for this year's Stewardship Campaign 2024 is based on one of John Wesley's guiding principles to "Do All the Good You Can". This message is reinforced in scripture where, in 1 Timothy 6:18, Paul asks Timothy to instruct the people of Ephesus to "do good, to be rich in good works, generous, and ready to share". In the spirit of "do all the good you can", we need to use this Stewardship season to prayerfully renew our commitment to the Aldersgate mission of "courageously living God's unconditional love". Stewardship is not just about the finances we commit to the church. It is also about using our God-given gifts to serve the church and others. As we continue our Stewardship theme of, "Do All the Good You Can" we invite you to make a commitment of your time and talents for 2024. Consider making a new commitment this year, and please make sure to renew your commitment in an area you wish to continue using your gifts. These Time and Talent cards are vital for the health and growth of the church as we seek to do all the good that we can in our church and community. Drop off your Time and Talent card in the offering plate on Sunday morning, bring it to the church office, or email it to office@aldersgate.net by Sunday, January 21st.
